Entrepreneur…

He went on to say that his blue jeans were just about wore out.  The knees in the jeans were torn.  The jeans were torn in several other places too.   His mom’s reply was quick, to the point!  Well son I’ll sew patches where you need them.  He was not satisfied with her answer. He continued to complain.

His mom replied.  Look son, you’ve younger brothers and sisters They need clothes too!  In fact, I need to buy clothes for all five of my children.  But, we simply can not afford it.  Your dad just started back to work after being off on a union strike.  We simply do not have the money to spend right now.  I do not have the resources that were available to me when I lived on a farm.

At that very moment it time, Will was introduced to a real-life experience that he had never experienced until then.   He  noticed tears in his mom’s eyes.   She quickly wiped them away.   Then, Will replied, mama it’s ok.  Sewing up my blue jeans where they are torn will work just fine.

Will said, he turned around walked through the kitchen and right out the back-door of his house into his backyard.   He looked around the yard while listening to mocking birds singing to one another.

He went over to their back-yard swing-set.  Set down on one of the swings.  He started swinging listing to the singing of the mocking birds.  and thinking to himself.  I need to help mom make extra money.

Life made it necessary to begin his with his mother’s help.  It was early in Will’s life while living at home where he began to start learning all about insight and entrepreneurship. Life made him start looking for ways to make money on the side. (More coming soon)

Will became an entrepreneur when he decided to do the following while in the sixth grade of elementary school…

• Pecans were picked up from the ground that had fallen from a very large over-producing pecan tree.

• Pecans were sold to neighbors through out his neighborhood.

• Pecan revenue purchased small laying hens (pullets).

• Each pullet purchased grew up into several laying hens. They laid lots of eggs. His family had fresh eggs several times a week.

Plenty of fresh eggs were still available every morning. They were sold to neighbors living near Will’s home.

•  Genes came from a decendent who was a successful New Orleans hat maker

• A  mom who was taught to cook and raise farm animals; Cattle, chickens, hogs, pullets to lay eggs

• His mother was taught be be a seamstress to make and/or repair clothes

All of the above was utilized as applicable for clothing or food.  What was left over was utilized as a resource to sell and make a profit .

Today, Will is an entrepreneur and the CEO of Buy-Rite Sales Inc.  The company was his first start up on March 26, 1979.   Will’s earlier experience with part-time businesses, prepared him for the following.

He  wanted to be able to run multiple types of business departments under one name ABCO Specialties.   It  was  Will’s second startup back in 2002.   He told his attorney he wanted to accomplish the following.  Advertising and marketing multiple products and or services through different departments under one business name, ABCO Specialties.  Will’s attorney replied, “You need to set-up your business start-up ABCO Specialties under your Sub-Chapter S-Corporation Buy-Rite Sales, Inc.
